Jim’s Yoga background is 19 years of practice, exploration, and teaching. Initially, Jim was drawn to yoga in the 1980’s through his surfing addiction, to stretch out, re-align and to heal injuries sustained in the ocean.

Since the first trip to India at the tender age of 21 his yoga practice has been influenced by the Iyengar and Ashtanga Styles, the more medical Synergy style as well as other mind/body disciplines of Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung.
 
He still hasn’t completely overcome the surf addiction, and dashes out to ride the chilly Atlantic waves in between teaching, massaging and being a doting father and husband.

Jim Harrington has been the Senior Teacher and Teacher Trainer at the Moksha Yoga studio in Cape Town for the past four years. He has introduced several hundred beginners to the practice of yoga and continues to play a mentoring role to the New Teachers who have graduated from his courses.

He is an internationally recognized IYA (Yoga Alliance) Teacher Trainer, and conducts Workshops and courses in Anatomy and Physiology for Yoga teachers and practitioners.
